Heritage Days are the perfect opportunity to discover the treasures that the Île-de-France region has to offer, a land of history and secrets. The Hauts-de-Seine department is no slouch when it comes to offering exceptional visits to its estates, filled with greenery, beautiful châteaux and renowned museums. This Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2023, head for the Domaine départemental de la Vallée-aux-Loups to discover an incredible and romantic space, where the House of Chateaubriand is hidden.
This immense départemental estate of almost 60 hectares, today comprising the Parc de Chateaubriand, the Arboretum, the Île verte, the Aigle blanc, the Parc boisé, the Friches and the Porchères, offers an exceptional landscape heritage in the Paris region, open to the public all year round.
Listed as a historic monument, the Maison de Chateaubriand is dedicated to the writer and, more broadly, to the literary memory of the 18thand 19thcenturies. Owned by the Département, the establishment recreates the atmosphere of a romantic "chartreuse" as the writer knew it.
