Every September, the European Heritage Days are a not-to-be-missed event in Paris and the Île-de-France region: this year, the event takes place on Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, 2025, and offers hundreds of visits, events and activities to discover our heritage from a different angle.
To mark the occasion, a large number of sites that are closed to the public all year round are opening their doors to the public for exclusive guided tours, some of which have never been seen before. This is the case for some of Paris's leading lycées and higher education establishments, which are only accessible to their students, teachers and staff all year round, but which are offering visitors the chance to discover their architecture, history and rich heritage on an exceptional visit over the weekend of September 20 and 21.
With their huge buildings, richly decorated halls and the very special atmosphere found in these highly prestigious higher education establishments, Paris's largest lycées and other university campuses are opening their doors to you during the Journées du Patrimoine 2025 , allowing you to take a guided tour and admire the classrooms, halls, staircases... usually reserved for those lucky enough to study there.
