High winds: Paris parks, gardens and cemeteries closed this Thursday

Due to the arrival of storm 'Nelson' and the high winds expected this March 28, 2024 in the Île-de-France region, the City of Paris has taken the decision to close all its parks, gardens and cemeteries this Thursday.

A turbulent weekend in Paris! A violent gale is forecast for the capital, and everywhere else in the Île-de-France region, due to the arrival of storm'Nelson'. This Thursday, March 28, 2024, all departments in the Paris region have been placed under yellow alert for high winds, with gusts estimated at up to 80 km/h.

Caution is therefore called for on Thursday. Also, for safety reasons, the City of Paris has announced the closure of its parks, gardens and cemeteries from 12.30pm."Due to strong winds forecast by Météo France, the City of Paris has decided to close its parks, gardens and cemeteries this Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 12:30 pm," the City of Paris states on its website.

The Mairie de Paris (Paris City Hall) also reminds us of a number of instructions to be followed in the event of strong winds, such as avoiding leaving your home if possible, not walking under trees, avoiding walks in the Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes, and not going down into basements in the event of heavy rain.
