Due to the weather, and for safety reasons, the Jardin d'Acclimatation will remain closed this Thursday, February 22, 2024. Météo France has placed the Île-de-France region on orange alert for "strong winds" and on yellow alert for "rain and flooding".

Hold on to your hats, the wind is likely to blow very hard over Paris and the Île-de-France region this Thursday, February 22, 2024. In fact, Météo France has placed the region under a vigilance orange for "violent winds", as well as a yellow alert for the risk of rain and flooding. The weather institute is forecasting gusts of up to 110 km/h locally, accompanied by heavy rain at the end of the day.

In view of these conditions, Météo France is urging people living in areas affected by the warning to limit their travel. Such gusts can cause damage, particularly to trees and infrastructure close to them.

As a safety precaution, the Jardin d'Acclimatation announced in a message posted on social networks that it would remain closed this Thursday, February 22, 2024. The garden is expected to reopen to visitors when the weather alert is officially lifted. Other parks and gardens in Paris and the Île-de-France region may take similar measures this Thursday. The high winds and warnings of rain or flooding are caused by the low-pressure system "Louis". The latter arrives from the sea and crosses France from west to east. For the moment, Météo France has given no indication of when this low-pressure system is expected to end.
