Transports in Paris and the Île-de-France area are set to be disrupted this weekend. On Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2026, works will affect several lines of the metro, the RER, the Transilien network and the T3b tram. Sunday will concentrate most of the outages, with lines 6, 11 and 13 out of service.
Power outages are not stopping at the gates of the capital. They are also affecting Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Val-d'Oise, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, and Val-de-Marne.
This weekend, getting around Paris by RER feels like a scavenger hunt. RER C and RER E won’t cross the city center for a good part of the day on Saturday and Sunday. Before you set off, a quick check of the Ile-de-France Mobilités site, or the RATP or Transilien SNCF pages, will spare you long waits on the platform.
The three lines are halted for modernization works. The Line 6 is closed all day along its entire route, from Charles de Gaulle-Étoile to Nation. The lines 11 and 13 are suspended along their full length until noon, after which service resumes in the afternoon.
On the same day, the 20 km de Paris marks its 48th edition. Around 35,000 runners are expected to participate, routing from Pont d'Iéna to the Arc de Triomphe, through the Bois de Boulogne and along the Seine quays, before finishing at the base of the Eiffel Tower.
Result: there will be no bus replacement for line 6 before 3 p.m., as the race takes over part of western Paris’ main arteries. RATP has published a page on access and zones to avoid on the day of the 20 km, with streets closed from early morning and numerous bus detours. The organizers also outline the route on the race’s official site.
To bypass Line 6, the Line 2 acts as the northern twin, running between Étoile and Nation. On the Line 14 (Line 13), it takes over between Saint-Lazare and Mairie de Saint-Ouen. And if you were aiming for Bir-Hakeim to cheer the runners, the Line 9 at Trocadéro or Iéna remains a good entry point.
The social movement that disrupted the T3b tram line all week is set to end on Friday. The weekend won’t be quiet either, as the race passes through Porte-Dauphine.
RER A and B are running normally this weekend. The other three lines, by contrast, are disrupted across large sections, including during the day.
The Champ-de-Mars-Tour Eiffel station remains accessible from the western end of the line, but not from the eastern side of the left bank before 5 p.m. To follow the line live, head to our page dedicated to the RER C.
Real-time details are available on our page dedicated to the RER D.
In short, the RER E will only operate this weekend in the late afternoon and early evening on its central section. The line is being monitored in real time on our site.
Four Transilien lines are affected this weekend. Line P toward Seine-et-Marne and Line N toward Yvelines are the most affected.
Substitute buses are planned for most of the cut sections, with the exception of Line 6 before 3 p.m. Sunday. Their stops and timetables are available in the apps of Île-de-France Mobilités, RATP, and Transilien.
If you find yourself with nothing to do in western Paris on Sunday morning, it’s wiser to schedule your outings for the afternoon, once lines 11 and 13 have resumed service. For a full overview, see all the week’s disruptions and our daily traffic brief, continuously updated.
These little detours shouldn’t spoil your plans. Dip into this week’s best deals, and for passing visitors, our guide on transport tickets since the end of the paper ticket will help you choose the right option.
