New works are scheduled for the weekend of March 15 and 16, 2025 on the Paris and Ile-de-France networks of the RATP and SNCF. We take a look at the disruptions expected on the metro, RER and Transilien networks this weekend.

A new weekend of work on the RATP and SNCF networks in the Île-de-France region is scheduled for Saturday 15th to Sunday 16th March 2025, in order to make progress on the Grand Paris projects, future metro line extensions or simply to keep the network in good condition. Is there going to be a lot of work this time, or is it going to be a quiet weekend? Beware of traffic disruptions and train cancellations, which sometimes need to be anticipated well in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises!

This weekend, three RER lines, five Transilien lines and one metro line are affected. To find alternative routes if you need to travel, the Transilien SNCF website offers alternatives, with buses regularly scheduled to serve stations.

Here's the schedule for the weekend of March 15 and 16, 2025

Which RER lines will be affected?

  • The RER A will be interrupted between Maisons-Laffitte and Poissy from Saturday March 15 at 10:00 pm to Sunday March 16 at 6:30 am. Substitution buses will be provided to ensure continuity of service.

  • The RER B will be interrupted from Monday March 10 to Friday March 14, from 10:45 pm, between Gare du Nord and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 - TGV / Mitry-Claye due to maintenance work. Substitution buses will be available.

  • The RER C will be interrupted on Sunday March 16, from 11:30pm, between Paris Austerlitz and Dourdan / Saint-Martin d'Étampes. Substitute buses will be available.

What disruptions are expected on the Transilien network?

  • On line J, on Saturdays March 8 and 15, and Sundays March 9 and 16 2025, traffic will be interrupted all day between Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and Pontoise. There will also be fewer trains between Pontoise and Boissy-l'Aillerie. Replacement buses will serve the affected stations.

Which metro lines will be affected?

  • Line 14 will be completely shut down on Sunday 16 March due to modernization work.

What advice do you have for users during these disruptions?

Passengers are advised toplan ahead, checking the timetable of replacement buses and allowing for extra travel time. They can consult real-time information via official applications such as SNCF Connect, Île-de-France Mobilités, or by following the Twitter accounts of the lines concerned. It is also advisable to ask station agents for precise, up-to-date information.

In short, get ahead of the game so you don't waste time and avoid disappointment!
