There's a shift happening at La Flèche d'Or! The popular cultural venue in the 20th arrondissement will close its doors in June 2026 for renovation, with plans to reopen in 2027 under a new concept.

The Fletcher of Gold is undergoing a transformation. Contrary to reports in several media outlets, this cultural and socially conscious venue located in the 20th arrondissement, housed in the former Charonne train station, will not be closing its doors for good. However, the Fletcher of Gold as we know it is definitely set to undergo a change!

Indeed, the Flèche d'Or will be closing its doors for renovation work starting June 27, 2026. It plans to reopen with a new concept in 2027. The announcement was made via a post on its social media channels, revealing that the project is the collaboration of eight collectives (Curry Vavart, Gare XP, Collectif Mu, DOXA ESTA, Pieg, Ancoats, DOC, and ObliQ), and provided further details about the plans.

"Activity is slowing down. The Flèche d'Or project, as it stands today, will come to an end on June 27, 2026. The venue will then close for renovations. Simultaneously, the City of Paris will launch a call for projects to select a new permanent occupant. To prepare for this closure and ensure a smooth transition, we have decided to gradually adapt our operations and resources. This involves scaling back both activity and our staff. Volunteering remains, more than ever, at the heart of the venue's life. We now have six months to write the final chapter of this wonderful adventure together."

The groups also specify that the following socio-cultural activities will continue until June 27:

  • Psychological support and access to rights services
  • Family and youth programs
  • Free access to activities
  • Membership subscription to support La Flèche and enjoy a 25% discount on all paid events, available until July 1st
  • Solidarity cafeteria, open Fridays and Saturdays from 12 PM to 2 PM, welcoming individuals staying in social hotels for shared meals in the afternoons. Also includes outreach missions and Sunday solidarity breakfasts

As highlighted by Monpetit20e, the mayor of the 20th arrondissement, Eric Pliez, has shared more details about the reason for the upcoming renovations at La Flèche d'Or. He mentioned the presence of "little critters munching on the beams" in a Facebook post. Meanwhile, the City of Paris, which owns the venue, is preparing to launch a call for projects to decide on the site's future permanent use.
