Due to the passage of Hurricane Kirk, Météo France has placed all the departments of the Île-de-France region under a "vigilance orange pluie-inondation" (orange rain-flood watch) on Wednesday October 9 and Thursday October 10, 2024.

Storm Kirk continues to cause severe weather in October 2024. Some thirty départements have been placed under vigilance across the country , and caution is strongly recommended. But what's the situation in Paris and the Île-de-France region?

The 8 departments of the Paris region are affected by this warning, and have been placed under vigilance orange for rain and flooding on Wednesday and Thursday. The situation in Paris, but also in Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne and Val-d'Oise, is therefore being closely monitored.

The department of Seine-et-Marne is also the only one in France to have been placed under red alert due to flooding, with particular attention paid to the Grand Morin Aval river, which could experience a record rise by Thursday.
