The Friday, May 1, 2026, hooray, a public holiday! And that works out perfectly, because this three-day long weekend is packed with family-friendly outings for kids of all ages in every district. Want us to show you what's on?
On the menu for this first weekend of May, all the children’s amusement parks are open, there are beautiful family-friendly exhibitions and playful activities available at certain Paris cultural venues, and above all, festive events await you all day on May Day. It’s also a great opportunity for a lovely stroll in Paris or along the promenades found in the Île-de-France suburbs, through the exceptional forests of the region, the big parks… Or for a picnic in the finest parks, squares and Parisian gardens!
For the more active among us, we head to the tree-top adventure, time to climb, scramble, and zip between the branches, enjoying the thrill of a zip-line ride or, if you prefer, taking it a bit easier at the pool, since several Parisian pools are open on this public holiday. Slip on a swimsuit, a cap and goggles: off for a few laps, plenty of splashes, or some impressive dives.
On this May Day, we’re stocking up on feel-good moments, but above all we’re chasing thrilling sensations on the giant slide at Aquaboulevard, the water park in the 15th arrondissement, or by hopping on one of the rides at the Foire du Trône in the 12th. And if the weather isn’t cooperating, there’s still a dependable fallback to entertain the kids all day: head to the indoor playgrounds of Paris and its suburbs, where the inflatable fun can go on for hours.
What's on your agenda for May 1, 2025 with the kids?
