Last October, about 12 million French people were able to receive government assistance to fill their car's tank. A fuel allowance of between 100 and 300 euros, to help the working people with the lowest incomes, against the sharp rise in fuel prices. This measure was accompanied by a discount at the pump: a decrease of 10 cents per liter, imposed by the government, to slightly reduce the bill of consumers.
This discount at the pump disappeared at the end of 2022, and will not be renewed. On the other hand, the fuel allowance is again distributed to some French, from January 2023, and until the end of March. Originally, it was supposed to end on February 28, but has been extended. Bruno Lemaire made the announcement this Monday, February 13 on RTL. The Minister of the Economy said that "almost half" of the households eligible for this aid had not applied for it .
This allowance is reserved for working French people, who earn less than 1,500 euros net per month, and should be paid for a whole year.
As with the previous allowance, those concerned must apply on the website of the Directorate of Public Finances(impots.gouv.fr), by sending a declaration on honour, and by entering their tax number, the car registration number and their license plate. The monetary aid is sent directly to the beneficiaries' bank account. Fiscal controls should be carried out later to verify that the beneficiaries of this aid are indeed eligible.
You can apply until March 31 of this year. The allowance should be paid directly into your bank account within 8 to 10 days after your application. If you cannot do this via the Internet, a toll-free number will be proposed to you from January 16.
As a reminder, this allowance is individual: all members of the household who are eligible to receive this aid can therefore apply. " For job seekers, there will be aid and we have reinforced the budgets of Pôle Emploi, to accompany job seekers who need to travel to look for work, to go for training. But it is with Pôle Emploi that job seekers will be able to apply for this aid ," added the Prime Minister.
About 10 million French people should be able to benefit from this second fuel allowance, the government estimates.
