What could be better than lunch on a terrace in Paris this summer? The City of Paris understands that Parisian terraces are a veritable institution and now have their own competition to reward the most beautiful in the capital! Like last year, shopkeepers and restaurateurs are invited to take part, and to register until September 7, 2023. At the end of September, a jury made up of professionals and residents chosen by lot will select the lucky winner!
"I invite all shopkeepers to take advantage of this competition to promote our Parisian terraces, which are a symbol of French art de vivre and an important part of the soul of Paris", said Olivia Polski in 2022, deputy mayor in charge of commerce. The jury will have to take into account theaesthetics of the terraces, their urban integration, the quality of the materials, the right-of-way on the public highway and respect for the neighborhood in its vote.
There's no doubt that the winner will see an increase in the number of visitors to his or her terrace next summer! An opportunity to discover the capital's finest spots for eating in the shade. For our part, we'd like to suggest a few!
