With Christmas just around the corner, Christmas trees and illuminations are making a comeback, and the Champs-Élysées are not missing a beat! The most beautiful avenue in the world will once again sparkle with a thousand lights from November onwards. The magic of the holidays is back in Paris!
The lights are usually switched on in the presence of one or more celebrities acting as sponsors, as well as the mayors of Paris and the 8th arrondissement. We have been able to attend this launch in the company of Karl Lagerfeld, Lili-Rose Depp, and Gilles Lellouche. After an enthusiastic countdown, they press a button together and immediately the most beautiful avenue in the world is dressed in its lights.
This year, the format of the Christmas lights launch is set to take on a whole new dimension, with the event scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. on November 22, 2026 on the avenue, which will be pedestrianized for the occasion. The program includes a sound and light show like last year, a concert by Feu! Chatterton, and a launch hosted by Cate Blanchett. For Christmas 2026, the event also marks the return of a Christmas market on the Champs-Élysées.

And so, Parisians and passing visitors will discover the lights that will illuminate the Champs-Elysées this winter. These illuminations will run through the end of the first week of January and stay lit throughout the evening until midnight, with the exception of the evenings of December 24 and 31, when the Champs-Elysées shines all night.
As for the installation, it is said to have been carried out with environmental responsibility in mind, with the lighting fixtures able to be used for three to five seasons. In total, 400 trees are to be covered in lights.
