Exit Jean-Yves Ferri, the ex-screenwriter of the adventures of "Asterix and Obelix" in comics has left his place to the truculent Fabcaro ("Zaï Zaï Zaï", "The Speech", etc.) for the 40th volume of the series, named "The White Iris".

Each new album is the best-selling book of the year in France. The 40thAsterix album will be released on October 26th and we already know its title. While the latest film adaptation ofAsterix is currently in theaters, it's the comic book 's turn to be the talk of the town. In an interview with RTL radio, Fabcaro, the new scriptwriter of the series (who took over from Jean-Yves Ferri) made some revelations about this new volume, entitled L'Iris blanc.

As the author of Zaï Zaï Zaï, The Speech and Moon River confided, this new Asterix and Obelix adventure will deal with the theme of personal development. The Romans are tired of always losing to the Gauls, and the White Iris must teach them to see the positive in everything. This new method will have an impact on our die-hard Gauls, and some will want to adopt its precepts. Something to stir up the village!

"The iris is a symbol of benevolence and fulfillment. Its symbolism fit quite well with what I wanted to tell", Fabcaro told RTL, before adding that if the Gauls believe the Romans to be crazy, the craziest are perhaps not those we think.
