This summer's promise was to be able to swim for free in the Canal Saint-Martin, every Sunday from July 9 to August 20. But this Sunday, August 6, it won't be possible. Due to heavy rain this week, the water in the canal is polluted by overflowing sewers, making swimming impossible, announced the 10th arrondissement town hall. For the same reason, the open-water swimming test competition in preparation for the 2024 Olympics has also been cancelled.
ℹ️ Unfortunately, the quality of the water tested today means that summer swimming in the Canal Saint-Martin will not be possible this Sunday 6/08. ℹ️

Since July 9, a 100-meter-long area of the Canal Saint-Martin has been open to bathing every Sunday. In fact, water quality is tested every Saturday to determine whether it's safe to swim. And for this week, it's impossible. However, with the return of fine weather, we can expect the canal to reopen next week.
The Canal Saint-Martin will be open for free swimming every Sunday in summer 2023!
