Following on from the Val-d'Oise's best patisserie competition, the Essonne 2023's best patisserie competition took place this autumn. Held this autumn, this gourmet competition brought together a number of artisan bakers and patissiers ready to fight it out for victory and the coveted trophy.
To do so, the candidates had to create and present two flagship pastries of French gastronomy, the religieuse au café and the tropézienne. A jury, made up of professionals and experts, had to taste these numerous pastries and decide between the candidates on the basis of taste and texture.
After deliberation, the jury finally named Valentin Delvalet from the Paris Panem bakery in Orsay as the overall winner of the 2023 Essonne Best Pastry Competition, in the " Business Owners " category. As revealed by Papilles d'or on social networks and the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat du 91, the award ceremony took place on November 7.
Second place went to Fabrice Pottier of Maison Pottier in Marcoussis, followed byAdrien Ozaneaux of Aux Délices d'Épinay bakery in Épinay-sur-Orge.
