While we wait to find out the results and the winning village, discover the 14 communes in competition this year.
Rich in history and culture, these 14 communes in the running in 2025 are once again located in the four corners of France. They include Malestroit in Morbihan, Longpont in Hauts-de-France, Grand'Rivière in Martinique, Clécy in Normandy and Lupiac in Occitanie. The Île-de-France region has not been forgotten, with one Ile-de-France commune included in the list of 14 villages in competition. So, which village is it and where is it located?
This year, for the 14th edition of " France's favorite village ", the Ile-de-France region is represented by the commune of Rochefort-en-Yvelines, in the 78 department. Nestled in the heart of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse, Rochefort-en-Yvelines is famous for its castles- three to be exact. Firstly, there's Gui Le Rouge's castle, built in the 11th century, then Louis XIII's and finally the sublime Château Porgès.
But tourists also flock to Rochefort-en-Yvelines to explore the village's cobbled sandstone streets and flower-filled lanes. Last but not least, the Yvelines commune also attracts horse-riding enthusiasts; the village is known throughout the equestrian world for its internationally renowned stud farms.
