Usually announced several days (or even weeks or months) in advance, strikes in the public transport sector are a regular occurrence, but can be anticipated, provided you know which lines are affected, and to what extent. This Friday, July 18, 2025, a surprise strike affects the RER E line, initiated by a local social movement, according to Actu Paris.
In fact, RER E traffic will be disrupted throughout the day, on the routes from Nanterre-la-Folie to Chelles-Gournay and Villiers-sur-Marne: three out of four trains will be kept running. The RER E branch to Tournan-en-Brie will not be affected by this surprise strike.
If you're a user of the line, we advise you to use the Île-de-France Mobilités mobile application or the eponymous website, to keep up to date with the latest details on RER E traffic and conditions on Friday, July 18, 2025.
