2025 Christmas lights on the Champs-Élysées in Paris: what does the new lighting look like?

It's one of the highlights of the holiday season in Paris: the Champs Elysées illuminations. The most beautiful avenue in the world shines every evening as Christmas and New Year's Eve approach, contributing to the magical atmosphere that enchants the capital. The trees along the famous avenue that connects the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde light up at nightfall, creating an iconic setting!

The lighting is not always the same: in fact, it changes every three to five years. This is how we have come to know the Champs-Elysées in different lights: bright white rings encircling the trees, flamboyant red along the walkways, and more recently, golden lights, for example. 

So what can we expect from the 2025 Christmas lights? This year is a year of change, as new lighting technology from Blachèreilluminates the Champs-Elysées. At a press conference on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the president of the Champs-Elysées Committee, Marc-Antoine Jamet, will give a preview of what to expect:

"We're going to move from photos to film," said Marc-Antoine Jamet, president of the Champs-Elysées Committee, setting the tone: each LED is now controllable, programmable, and upgradeable. So we can expect more movement and less of a static image from the Champs-Elysées illuminations. A sound and light show entitled "Stereophonies" takes place every half hour. As for the color, gold will be retained as in previous years, with one variation: this year, at the beginning of each hour, the most beautiful avenue in the world will shine with silver lights in response to the iconic lighting of the Eiffel Tower.
