Bad news for commuters on Line 1. On this Tuesday, February 10, 2026, train traffic is currently suspended on part of this busy Paris metro line. Due to a technical incident that occurred this morning at Porte Maillot station, service is interrupted between
Charles de Gaulle – Étoile and La Défense. As a result, stations like Argentine, Porte Maillot, Les Sablons, Pont de Neuilly, Esplanade de La Défense, and La Défense are temporarily inaccessible. Charles de Gaulle – Étoile has become the provisional terminus of Line 1 until service is restored.So, when will the traffic be restored on the western section of line 1? The initial estimate was that train service between Charles de Gaulle – Étoile and La Défense would resume by 9 a.m. However, the RATP now reports that traffic could restart around noon. In the meantime, commuters are advised to take alternative routes. For example, to reach La Défense from Charles de Gaulle – Étoile, travelers can use the RER line A. Alternatively, they can also take the line E departing from Porte Maillot.
It is well known that Line 1 of the Paris métro is one of the busiest routes for commuters in Île-de-France. However, it hasn't held the top spot for some time now. The line has recently been overtaken by Line 14.
