Once again, bad news for passengers on Line 1. After a major disruption yesterday between Charles de Gaulle – Étoile and La Défense, train services are once more halted on part of this Paris metro line this Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Due to a technical incident on a train at La Défense, train traffic is currently suspended between Esplanade de la Défense and La Défense. The result? La Défense station is inaccessible on line 1, and Esplanade de la Défense has become the temporary terminus until normal service resumes.
So, when will the traffic be fully restored on the western section of Line 1? According to RATP, service is expected to resume around 11 a.m. in that area. In the meantime, commuters are advised to take alternative routes. For example, to reach La Défense from Charles de Gaulle – Étoile, they can use the RER Line A. Travelers can also opt for the Line E at Porte Maillot.
It's important to note that Line 1 of the metro is heavily used by commuters across Île-de-France. However, it’s no longer the most crowded line in the network. Recently, Line 1 was overtaken by Line 14.
