Who will win the 49th edition of the Marathon de Paris? The records—held by Kenyan Elisha Rotich for men (2 h 4 min 21 s in 2021) and by Kenyan Judith Jeptum for women (2 h 19 min 48 s in 2022)—will they fall? For now, the suspense is intact. Yet the 60,000 runners expected to line the capital’s streets this year are ready to push themselves to conquer the legendary 42.195 km in a record time.
This year, the Paris Marathon will start on the Champs-Élysées before heading to the Place de la Concorde, the Place de l'Opéra, along the banks of the Seine, down Rue de Rivoli, to the Place de la Bastille, through the Bois de Vincennes, and not forgetting the Bois de Boulogne.
However, to ensure the smooth running of this major race, the Police Prefecture has announced the introduction of traffic and parking restrictions.
