A fire near the tracks in the Plaisir-Grignon area is disrupting this evening’s services on lines N and U from Saint-Cyr, toward Dreux and Mantes-la-Jolie, until about 8:15 p.m.

A fire near the railway tracks in the Plaisir-Grignon area, in Yvelines (78), is prompting a total disruption of traffic on the Transilien lines N and U this evening. Traffic has been halted since Saint-Cyr toward Dreux and Mantes-la-Jolie until 8:15 PM. Consequently, trains running in the opposite direction, from Dreux and Paris, are also suspended on this section, according to information released by Transilien SNCF.

Which lines are affected by the service disruption?

It’s the N and U lines that are affected by this incident. Two routes are disrupted: the Saint-Cyr–Dreux link and the Saint-Cyr–Mantes-la-Jolie link, two branches serving a large population hub in western Île-de-France. In both directions, trains departing from Dreux as well as those coming from Paris cannot pass through the Plaisir-Grignon segment, a station located in the commune of Plaisir, about twenty kilometers west of Versailles, in a residential and peri-urban area that sees heavy traffic at rush hours.

What should you do if you're stuck on the N or U lines tonight?

For travelers affected by the disruption, the first move is to check in real time on the SNCF Connect app or the Transilien.com website to track how the situation unfolds. Replacement bus options may be put in place by Transilien: be sure to check with on-site staff or follow Transilien’s official accounts on X (formerly Twitter). It can also be possible to delay your trip if conditions allow, especially since disruptions caused by fires near the tracks can extend beyond initial estimates.

It should be noted that this type of incident remains contingent on the intervention of emergency services and the complete securing of the area before any traffic can resume. The resumption is announced for 8:15 p.m., but this deadline may shift depending on on-site operations.
