The MF19, the next-generation, heavy-rail metro, is rolling out further. After lines 10 and 7bis, the new metro will debut on two more lines in 2027, including line 13. Here are more details.

This summer, disruption to many metro lines continues due to major travaux. The works are set to enable, in particular, the arrival of the MF19, the famous new-generation, heavy-rail metro, described as "more modern" and aimed at improving travel conditions for all users, "with greater comfort, safety and onboard information services".

Passengers on the ligne 10 were the first to benefit from this new metro. It was October 16, 2025. Since then, the RATP has been steadily rolling out this new rolling stock. This year, the MF19 is set to arrive on the ligne 7bis; delivery is scheduled for December.

Then, in 2027, two more lines of the Paris metro will welcome the MF19. These are the line 3bis and the famed line 13. On this line, the MF19 is scheduled to enter service in the summer of 2027, ahead of the line’s full automation expected for 2035. As the RATP notes, a testing phase is currently under way on line 13, "to verify the proper operation of the new rolling stock and its compatibility with the infrastructure".

What’s next? The MF19 units will then arrive on the Line 12 (2028), the Line 8 (2029), the Line 3 (2031) and the Line 7 (2033). Progressive commissioning on the other lines is planned through 2033.

We note that the MF19 is a modular train, “a symbol of modernity, designed to meet tomorrow’s challenges and today’s needs.” This new-generation, rail metro aims to deliver greater comfort for riders (reversible air conditioning, comfortable seating, a naturally lit interior, USB ports and real-time passenger information screens...) and to offer distinct waiting areas (short- and long-distance trips, space allocated for people with reduced mobility).
