Heads up if you’re planning to ride the RER D on October 15, 2026. Transilien SNCF is warning of disruptions on this busy RER line this Thursday morning. In detail, service is suspended between Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon in both directions. The gare de Châtelet-les-Les Halles is therefore inaccessible for the moment. First announced at 7:00 a.m., the resumption time is now scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
This service disruption follows a power outage on the RER D. Additionally, service is disrupted along the rest of the line.
Note that the RER line D is heavily used by Île-de-France commuters. In Paris, the line serves notably Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon and Châtelet-les-Halles. Also served by the RER A and RER B, the Châtelet-Les-Halles station is the largest underground railway station in the world.
This Thursday morning, RER D commuters will have to brace themselves for delays. To follow live updates, the simplest option is to check the information page for line D on the Transilien site, as well as the Île-de-France Mobilités site and the Île-de-France Mobilités app, which recalculates routes in real time. The line D’s X account also relays updates throughout the morning.
With the restart announced for 9:30, it's best to plan ahead. To reach Châtelet-les-Halles from Gare de Lyon, travelers can notably take the RER A. To get to Gare de Lyon, it is also possible to take the Metro Line 14 from Stade de France - Saint-Denis.
