The program for Museum Night 2024 at the Bossuet Museum in Meaux (77)

  • Mediators for an evening
    Saturday, May 18, 6:00 p.m.

Our mediators for the evening, second-year art history students from the Lycée Charlotte Delbo in Dammartin-en-Goële, will be presenting their favorite works in the form of flash visits.

  • Opening of the exhibition "Landscape painting in Seine-et-Marne at the time of the Impressionists".
    Saturday, May 18, 6:00 p.m.

Seine-et-Marne inspired many 19th-century painters. It was the birthplace of Impressionism in Barbizon. Its territories have given their name to several schools of painting.
This exhibition will present the works of lesser-known artists, whose importance has been rediscovered in recent years. Their view of the Barbizon forest, the Grand Morin valley and the fields of Brie bears witness to an academic sensibility in plein-air painting, whose taste peaked at the end of the 19th century.
