The Musique des gardiens de la paix company performs on Wednesday afternoon, June 21! To celebrate the Fête de la Musique, a fine musical program is planned at the Bibliothèque Forney, in theHôtel de Sens.
For the record, the Fête de la Musique is a musical celebration born in France in 1982. Created to give pride of place to all musical styles, it is now celebrated the world over. It's a truly convivial musical moment, during which amateur and professional artists perform in streets, parks and concert halls, creating a festive atmosphere. This year, there's a whole host of events on the program for Wednesday June 21!
Among the not-to-be-missed venues in the Marais district, the Bibliothèque Forney, nestled in the heart of theHôtel de Sens, plans to welcome the Musique des gardiens de la paix.
This company, created in 1929 at the Préfecture de Police, boasts no fewer than 121 musicians. On Wednesday's program, a saxophone quartet from the orchestra plans to bring the venue to life for the afternoon. This libraryis one of Paris's cultural treasures! Specializing in the decorative arts, crafts and fashion, it houses an exceptional collection of books, magazines and precious documents.
