Once a year, budding musicians and amateur singers are invited to take to the streets to celebrate music in all its forms. For over 40 years now, the Fête de la Musique has been celebrated all over France to the delight of music lovers. Launched in 1982 by former French Minister of Culture Jack Lang, the Fête de la Musique has come a long way over the years, to the point of being exported abroad. It has to be said that the concept of the Fête de la musique has proved very popular.
Every June 21, the Fête de la Musique is an opportunity to showcase your talent to the greatest number of people, or to discover up-and-coming artists. From rock and rap to classical, jazz, blues, zouk, electro and French variety... all styles are in the spotlight on June 21, in the streets of course, but also in churches, museums, parks and gardens.
Once again this year, the Jardin du Luxembourg opens its doors to a number of musical highlights to mark the Fête de la Musique. Considered by many tourists as"the most beautiful garden in Europe", the Jardin du Luxembourg attracts many visitors every year. Located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris and extending over 23 hectares, the Luxembourg Garden was created in 1612 at the request of Marie de Médicis to accompany the Luxembourg Palace.
