Fête de la Musique 2026 in Paris: LFI's concert finally given the green light despite the heatwave

A new, 44th edition of World Music Day on June 21, 2026! After an initial ban by the Police Prefecture, the concert was ultimately authorized by administrative justice.

Update: initially blocked by the Paris Police Prefecture, a concert planned on Place de la République will finally go ahead. The Paris Administrative Court suspended on Friday, June 19, 2026, the police prefect's ban on the event.

Every year, certain spots attract bigger crowds than others, such as Place de la Bastille, Canal Saint-Martin or even the Place de la République. This Sunday, June 21, 2026, the iconic Paris square is set to ring with the 44th Fête de la Musique. From 6 p.m. to midnight, multiple artists are slated to perform on the main stage at this large gathering, which will feature “anti-racist concerts” as well as activist speeches. On the lineup? The rapper Kulturr, the up-and-coming rapper and violinist 2L, plus Franco-Algerian DJ Guido from Acid Arab, and the drag queen artist Malawitte. Also featuring the French artist Dinaa, rapper Leo SVR, La M4nita, drag queen Emily Tante, and activist groups KMSN and Zwoin.
