Want to celebrate Music Day this year ? Then don’t miss the return of this must-attend, both popular and festive event, on June 21! In 2026, the event falls on a Sunday, promising a long musical evening over the weekend.
As in previous years, there's plenty of good music to be enjoyed in Paris and the Île-de-France region, with concerts to suit every musical style. From rock and rap to salsa, zouk, funk, electro, classical and French variety, blues and jazz... music in all its forms resounds every June 21!
As a result, many places are taken over by budding musicians and singers on this day, including squares and boulevards, bridges, squares, parks and gardens, cafés, bars and restaurants, as well as churches and museums. While there are plenty of good music venues in Paris, there are also plenty in other parts of the Île-de-France region, such as Chilly-Mazarin.
Located in the Essonne region of France, Chilly-Mazarin is about 18 km south of Paris. Like many other communes in the department, the town of Chilly-Mazarin places great emphasis on culture. The town boasts a number of cultural facilities, including the Albert-Camus media library, the municipal music and dance conservatory and the François-Truffaut cinema. And Chilly-Mazarin offers cultural events all year round. Unsurprisingly, the town is taking part in this year's Fête de la Musique.
