This Saturday, June 21, 2025, the Fête de la musique is back all over France! Inaugurated in France in 1982, this major popular event was launched at the time on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture in order to shine the spotlight on budding musicians. Over 40 years later, live music continues to resonate throughout France and the Paris region every June 21.
It's a day for street concerts, but it's not the only one... On June 21, the Fête de la musique also brings live music to many other venues, including parks and gardens, bars and restaurants, as well as churches, museums and emblematic institutions.
Once again this year, the Élysée Palace is taking part in the Fête de la Musique, offering an evening of free concerts on Friday June 20. The following day, theHôtel de Matignon in Paris, home to the Prime Minister's residence since 1935, opens its doors to the general public for an eclectic music festival.
The building, built by architect Jean Courtonne in 1722 at the request of the Prince de Tingry, hides many secrets. Rich in history and culture, the Hôtel de Matignon boasts a sublime two-hectare garden designed by Claude Desgot, André Le Nôtre's great nephew.
This Saturday, June 21, 2025, to celebrate the new Fête de la Musique, the venue is opening its doors to you from 2pm to 7pm, with a series of musical highlights including an orchestra, a quartet and a concert by the Garde Républicaine. Please note, however, that registration is compulsory!
