New edition for the Fête de la Musique! Every June 21, this popular, festive, and free event puts a smile on the faces of music lovers and the many musicians eager to let living music ring out during a one-of-a-kind day. A day when all genres are celebrated: from rock and rap to blues and jazz, electronic sounds and classical music, reggae and classical music…
As a reminder, the Fête de la Musique was launched in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture. This 2026 edition marks 44 years of this music-filled, popular celebration, as loved as ever by the public. On every June 21, free concerts flood the streets, but also venues like concert halls, museums, institutions, churches, bar and restaurant terraces, and parks and gardens.
This year, for this new edition of the Fête de la Musique, music-friendly deals abound, and some events look set to be unmissable, such as the free concert evening hosted by France Inter at the Olympia.
Having quickly become a must-see on June 21, “France Inter fête la musique ” returns to the legendary Parisian venue on Boulevard des Capucines. For an entire evening, the famed Radio France network invites national and international artists to take over l’Olympia to celebrate the Fête de la musique as it should be. As in past years, this edition will be a live, in-person experience and broadcast live from Olympia on France Inter. Another piece of good news: entry is free and open, subject to available seats.
So, who has the honor of taking part in this new edition of “France Inter fête la musique ,” renamed this year as “Mehdi Maïzi fête la musique”? Following Clara Luciani, Benjamin Biolay, Yamê and Georgio last year, Olympia will welcome rapper Ino Casablanca, Swiss-Congolese artist Makala, and Canadian-born pianist Chilly Gonzales.
