Most often, it's a sport you discover as a child, or in PE lessons at school: swimming is the sport practiced by everyone and for everyone, with courses ranging from baby swimmers to seniors.

Recommended throughout our lives, swimming really is THE wellness sport for all ages, whether it's to introduce toddlers to the water, teach children to swim, or to practice a sport regularly and stay in good health.

So, from 0 to 5 years, the Fédération Française de Natation (FFN) offersaquatic awakening to help you discover the basics of swimming. For older children (6 to 12 years), it's then the turn of theFrench swimming school to learn how to float and swim simply. After that, you can continue with freestyle swimming, to stay healthy and fit, or opt for competitive swimming, which comprises several disciplines. Among them is competitive swimming, where you can train for 50m, 100m, 200m... And timed races of that kind. But there's also open-water swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo!

There are many clubs in Paris and the Paris region where you can practice swimming and the other aquatic disciplines (listed above). If you'd like to join a club for relaxation or to improve your skills (or even consider competing), here are the names of those affiliated to the FFN.
