Situated right above the Coulée verte du Sud Parisien - the cycle path linking Montparnasse station to Massy (91) - and on the route of the famous Véloscénie (the cycle path linking Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel), the Anna Marly garden is a beautiful oasis of nature, just a stone's throw from the Paris ring road.
Inaugurated in 2013, the garden is named after Anna Marly, née Betoulinskaïa, a Russian-born French singer and guitarist. She is best known for her involvement with the Free French Forces in 1941, as well as for composing the music for Le Chant des partisans.
Southerners will love the garrigue atmosphere that emanates from the site, and for good reason: it's inspired by the arid environment of the moors and relies on vegetation found in the South of France. With its many benches, wooden deckchairs and picnic tables, the spot is ideal for relaxing in the sun, enjoying thechildren's playground or taking in a few passes on the garden's sports field and skateboarding on thesliding area.
The Jardin Anna Marly is open every day, all year round, with opening times varying according to the season. It's right on the route of the GR75, the walking tour of Paris, so be sure to stop by if you're passing through!
