Adonis Johnson never knew his father, heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Despite a career far from the professional rings, he decides to carve out his own path in boxing. To do so, he heads to Philadelphia to seek out Rocky Balboa, Apollo’s former rival turned ally, and asks him to become his trainer.

At first reluctant, Rocky gradually agrees to pass on his experience to Adonis. The film leans into the franchise’s roots, from training in the streets of Philadelphia to the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, while shifting the story’s focus to a new generation.

Creed - Rocky Balboa’s Heritage holds a special place in the saga: it’s the first Rocky film not written by Sylvester Stallone. The screenplay is by Ryan Coogler and Aaron Covington, with a story built around Apollo Creed’s legacy, lineage, and the passing of the torch between two boxers separated by a generation.

In the cast, Michael B. Jordan plays Adonis Johnson, while Sylvester Stallone returns as Rocky Balboa. Tessa Thompson stars as Bianca, a musician and Adonis's partner. The film also features Phylicia Rashad, Tony Bellew, Graham McTavish and Wood Harris.
