There is a date and a trailer! Good news for Marvel and Venom fans: the antihero is back on the big screen with an even more explosive sequel. Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters has dropped the trailer for Venom: Let There be Carnage, and the release date. Meet on October 20, 2021 in France to discover Andy Serkis’s latest movie.

Tom Hardy is back on the big screen as Venom, one of the most complex characters in the Marvel universe. Andy Serkis directs the movie also starring Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson as the bad guy, Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage.

Plot:

All bets are off between Eddy and Venom: they share the same body; these two heads no longer agree on how they should live their lives. Venom reminds him he is a predator; he needs action and violence. But Eddy is always desperately looking for a way to live a quiet life, far from praying eyes.

Venom’s violent character will lead both men to jail, and more precisely to the Area 51, where other… special humans are kept isolated. There, he meets Cletus, a cannibal who will be infected by Venom after biting Eddy. The mix of the two promises to be as spectacular for viewers as dangerous for the movie characters.

Review:

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a dynamic and paced movie when it comes to the action, picking Venom and Eddie Brock's adventures up where we left them, while giving a new plot, rather refreshing, although rather void in the scenario and predictable.

Yet, we appreciated the cohesion between characters as much for Eddie Brock with Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Reid Scott as for Cletus Kasady with Woody Harrelson and Naomie Harris. But, we are left hungry for more about the movie that lasts only 90 minutes. We also are disappointed the movie sticks to close to the bill of specifications, and we think it does not take enough liberty in the story-telling, and the actors' performances are rather flat, without great extent.

But Veno: Let There Be Carnage remains an overall pleasant entertainment, ideal to unwing for as long as the movie lasts.
