The Accidental Superhero, the comedy directed by and starring Philippe Lacheau, airs on TMC on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 11:05 p.m. The film subverts the usual masked-hero tropes through the story of an actor who goes amnesic.
Cédric struggles to break through until he lands the lead in Badman, a superhero movie. After an accident while he’s still in costume, he wakes up with no memory and convinces himself that he is the very vigilante he was meant to portray on screen.
His loved ones try to help him remember, while everyday life begins to feel, in his eyes, like a perilous mission. Philippe Lacheau shares top billing with Tarek Boudali, Julien Arruti, Élodie Fontan, Chantal Ladesou, Georges Corraface, Jean-Hugues Anglade and Rayane Bensetti.
Initially pitched as a spoof of spy films, the project has shifted into the superhero realm. The costumes, gadgets, and action set pieces become a playground for the Bande à Fifi crew, already united around Nicky Larson et le parfum de Cupidon and 30 jours max.
Presented at the opening of the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival, ahead of its 2022 cinema release, Super-héros malgré lui blends comedy, action, and nods to major American franchises.
