The project originated when producers Mathias Rubin and Éric Juherian offered Philippe Lefebvre the chance to discover El amor menos pensado. Co-writing the screenplay with novelist Maria Pourchet (author of Feu and Western), the film aims to be a sharp comedy about human nature, paying close attention to language, couple dynamics, and what unfolds beneath everyday conversations.
The cast was carefully assembled with a strong sense of character.
