The Magic Cinéma: the open-air immersive cinema experience in Montrouge

Cinephiles and other lovers of the 7th art, here's something to pique your curiosity! The town of Montrouge is preparing to welcome back Magic Cinéma screenings, to the delight of open-air cinema fans, from July 20, 2023. Estelle Hirrien, the concept's creator, and Montrouge town council have collaborated to offer these unique screenings for the second year running. The Magic Cinéma stands out for its desire to renew film screenings by offering immersive experiences that appeal to the audience's 5 senses, with the aim of introducing them to the culture of the country highlighted by the film on show. These screenings complement the city's open-air cinema program.

Magic Cinéma sessions are designed to amaze audiences with unique moments of discovery and good humor. Come to Montrouge this summer for a series of unforgettable film screenings. Three emblematic films will be screened on these special evenings.

• Karaté Kid - July 20

Let yourself be transported into the captivating world of Karate Kid, directed by Harald Zwart. In addition to a screening of the film, spectators will be treated to a breathtaking karate demonstration, immerse themselves in Chinese calligraphy and be carried away by the haunting melodies of traditional Chinese dances and instruments.

Vibrate to the sound of rock'n'roll with Grease. The 50s will be in the spotlight, with the chance to dance to the rhythm of the film's songs, sample American specialties and be enchanted by the timeless melodies of this cult classic performed by talented singers.

• Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Night - August 24

Finally, on August 24, immerse yourself in a tropical atmosphere with Dirty Dancing: Havana Night. Audiences will have the opportunity to learn to salsa dance with talented Cuban dancers, savor exotic Cuban cuisine and be swept away by the overflowing passion of this spellbinding story.

Please note that the screenings will take place at different locations in Montrouge: on July 20 at Place Cresp, on August 17 at Square Jean Moulin and on August 24 again at Place Cresp. Each session will start at 7pm, creating a convivial and festive atmosphere before the film screening at 10pm. Admission is free for all, and only food and drink will be charged.
