Daniel Auteuil is back behind the camera, after his various adaptations of Marcel Pagnol(La Fille du Puisatier, Marius, Fanny) and Florian Zeller's play L'Envers du décor(Amoureux de ma femme). He will be presenting his new feature film, Le Fil , at the Cannes 2024 Film Festival.
"It's a fiction film. Daniel Auteuil tells us it's his first real first film, after adapting a few films by Marcel Pagnol. It's a thriller, starring himself and Grégory Gadebois," explained Thierry Frémaux, at the April 11 press conference that revealed much of the official selection for the Cannes 2024 Festival.
Le fil is adapted from a collection of short stories, Au guet-apens : chroniques de la justice pénale ordinaire, written by Lille criminal lawyer Jean-Yves Moyart, aka Maître Mô. Mô became famous on the Internet thanks to his blog 'Petite chronique judiciaire, ordinaire et subjective'.
Grégory Gadebois, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Alice Belaïdi are expected to join the cast of this thriller.
