Les Pistolets en plastique by Jean-Christophe Meurisse, closing film at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes

After 11 days of screenings and encounters, and before the much-anticipated awards ceremony, the 2024 Directors' Fortnight comes to a close on May 25 with the screening of Les Pistolets en plastique by Jean-Christophe Meurisse, the French director behindApnée - unveiled in a special screening at Critics' Week 2016 - andOranges Sanguines - which was presented as a Midnight Screening during the Cannes 2021 Festival.

Uzès, in his forties, is arrested by the police. The French authorities are convinced that he is in fact Paul Bernardin, a man wanted for having killed his wife and three children several years earlier. While the man proclaims his innocence, two amateur detectives, Léa and Christine, conduct their investigation in parallel. They know every detail of the case and are convinced that Uzès is the murderer of his family. Meanwhile, in Argentina, a forty-something Frenchman with a mysterious past celebrates his wedding with his pretty young fiancée...

The cast includes Delphine Baril, Charlotte Laemmel and Laurent Stocker.
