On Thursday April 10, 2025, Thierry Frémaux and Iris Knobloch unveiled the Un Certain Regard selection for the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, to be held on the Croisette from May 13 to 24, 2025. This year's prestigious selection features 16 films from around the world in competition - with possible additions over the coming days.
The Un Certain Regard selection is a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival that showcases audacious and different films. Among the 16 films in this competition, which showcases varied and committed works that reflect the evolution of contemporary cinema and the sensitivity of directors to current issues, we find established filmmakers alongside emerging talents.
A real springboard for these directors, Un Certain Regard enables them to make themselves known to a wide audience. The 78th edition of Cannes promises to be rich in discoveries and emotions. Without further ado, discover the Un Certain Regard 2025 selection!
