You dreamed of heading to the Festival de Cannes 2026, climbing the famous red carpet, and getting a first look at the new films before anyone else—yet you couldn’t make it? Are you a seasoned cinema buff or simply a curious moviegoer? Then this selection is made for you.
Indeed, few people know this, but you can discover, just days after the festival kicks off, the competition films at the Festival de Cannes 2026 in several Paris cinemas!
From the end of May and throughout June, head to the MK2 Bibliothèque, the Arlequin, the Cinémathèque Française and other cinemas in Paris and the Ile-de-France region for previews of the features and shorts presented in the Official Competition and Un Certain Regard, as well as at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes, Semaine de la Critique andAcid.
It is also worth noting that the opening ceremony will be shown live in several Paris cinemas, followed by the opening film of the Cannes Film Festival 2026, La Vénus Electrique by Pierre Salvadori.
