Cannes Film Festival 2026: The winners of the Un Certain Regard selection

The 2026 Cannes Film Festival is drawing to a close on the Croisette. Discover the Un Certain Regard winners list, which highlights auteur cinema and formal experimentation.

After twelve days of high-octane festivities, the Cannes Film Festival 2026 is already drawing to a close and the prizes are starting to roll in. This is notably the case for the Un Certain Regard selection, focused on auteur cinema and discovery, which this year gathered 19 films in competition, including 6 debut features that are also competing for the Camera d'Or.

For this 79th edition of the festival, the Un Certain Regard jury chaired by French actress Leïla Bekhti consisted of Senegalese producer Angèle Diabang, Lebanese composer Khaled Mouzanar, Italian director Laura Samani, and French filmmaker Thomas Cailley.

Together, they handed out five awards this Friday, May 22.

The Un Certain Regard 2026 winners announced:

  • Un Certain Regard Award: Everytime by Sandra Wollner
  • Jury Prize: The Elephants in the Mist by Abinash Bikram Shah
  • Special Jury Prize: The Corset by Louis Clichy
  • Best Actor: Bradley Fiomona Dembeasset for his performance in Congo Boy, Rafiki Fariala's film
  • Best Actresses : Marina De Tavira, Daniela Marin Navarro, and Mariangel Villegas in Siempre Soy Tu Animal Materno by Valentina Maurel
