Cannes Film Festival 2026: The Cannes Soundtrack Award shared by two films.

The final prize of the Festival de Cannes 2026 was awarded before the evening’s main ceremony, which unveiled the palmarès complet of this 79e édition and the Palme d'Or, when the Cannes Soundtrack Prize was awarded on May 23 by a jury of cinema journalists.

Together, they decided to honour not one, but two films: Autofiction by Pedro Almodóvar and its composer Alberto Iglesias, and Minotaure by Andrei Zviaguintsev and its duo of composers Sacha and Evgueni Galperine. The artists were, as usual, presented with the required Gold Record, on Miramar Beach.

Note that this is the second time Alberto Iglesias has earned the Cannes Soundtrack gold record, after receiving it in 2019 for Pain and Glory, again by Pedro Almodóvar. By contrast, this is the first time multiple composers have been honored.

As a reminder, last year the Cannes Soundtrack Award was awarded to David Letellier, aka Kangding Ray for the original score of Sirat by Oliver Laxe.
