Azur and Asmar to be showcased in a live cinema concert at the Grand Rex in October 2026

On October 25, 2026, Le Grand Rex in Paris will host a special event: a cinema concert dedicated to Azur & Asmar, the animated film by Michel Ocelot. This one-of-a-kind experience will immerse audiences in the film’s stunning visuals and enchanting musical score, offering a heartfelt journey for viewers of all ages.

Michel Ocelot, famous for his Kirikou trilogy, made his mark with Azur et Asmar in 2006. The film, inspired by the tales of the Thousand and One Nights, explores profound themes such as social inequality and the discovery of different cultures through the story of two milk brothers, Azur and Asmar, separated in their youth and reunited by a common quest.

The film's original soundtrack, composed by Gabriel Yared and rearranged for the occasion by Robin Melchior, will be performed live by the Yellow Socks Orchestra. Musicians Mohamed Najem and Yousef Zayed will enrich the performance with traditional instruments such as the Ney flute and the Oud, accompanying the film's projection on a large screen.
