For the2025 edition, 9 feature films have been chosen. Promising, new voices, and perhaps some future greats. For the opening film, however, it's an already well-known filmmaker who will be presenting her new film: Sophie Letourneur.
After Voyages en Italie, Sophie Letourneur continues her Italian trilogy on couples with L'Aventura. The cast includes the director herself, alongside Philippe Katerine.
Acid's biography of the director: "After several acclaimed short films, Sophie Letourneur directed her first feature in 2010, La Vie au ranch, presented by ACID at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2011, she presentedLe Marin masquéat the Locarno Film Festival, and took advantage of the opportunity to shootLes Coquilletteson location, which will be programmed there in 2012. After casting Lolita Chamah and Benjamin Biolay in Gaby Baby Doll, in 2020 she won the Prix Jean Vigo for Énorme, starring Marina Foïs and Jonathan Cohen. She then began directing an "Italian trilogy" on the couple with Voyages en Italie, released in 2023, of which L'Aventura is the second part, again with Philippe Katerine and herself in the lead roles."
