The last Cannes Film Festival 2025 prize to be awarded before the evening's high mass, which will unveil the 78th edition 's complete list of winners and the Palme d'Or, the Cannes Soundtrack Prize was awarded on May 23 by a jury of film journalists.
For this 15th edition of Cannes Soundtrack, they were Yannick Vély (Paris Match), Caroline Vié (20 minutes), Alberto Lechuga (Sofilm), Eve Jackson (France 24), Carlos Gomez (Gala), Nicolas Schaller (L'Obs), Philippe Rouyer (Positif), Bernard Achour (VSD), Marie-Pauline Mollaret (Ecran Noir), Theo Ribeton (Inrocks), Rafael Wolf (RTS) and David DelRio (Notimex).
Together, they chose to reward Oliver Laxe's film Sirat, which was awarded a de rigueur Disque d'Or on the Miramar beach. The soundtrack to the Franco-Spanish director's film is the (superb) work of David Letellier aka Kangding Ray.
The film's mastery rests, in fact, on a completely mad staging, supported by Kangding Ray's music, which becomes less and less techno and more and more organic as the story takes a dramatic turn.
