Angry Birds – The Great Takeoff will hit cinemas in France on December 23, 2026. Directed by John Rice, this third animated feature from the Angry Birds franchise unveils its first official trailer in French.
The film brings back Red, Chuck, Silver, and Bomb for a fresh big-screen adventure. This time, Red faces a more intimate challenge than the saga’s previous battles: fatherhood. The French synopsis sets the story during the holiday season, where the character must survive life at home while saving the world.
The trailer leans into a familial angle, with Red facing off against his kids and a slate of new faces. In the original version, Jason Sudeikis returns as Red, Josh Gad voices Chuck, Rachel Bloom voices Silver, and Danny McBride voices Bomb. The original voice cast also features Emma Myers, Walker Scobell, Psalm West, Keke Palmer, Lily James, Tim Robinson, and Marcello Hernandez.
This third installment continues the franchise born from Rovio’s mobile game, already brought to the big screen with The Angry Birds Movie in 2016 and The Angry Birds Movie 2 in 2019. For this new chapter, Paramount Pictures France is targeting a Christmas release, a peak period traditionally strong for animated films and family cinema.
The film is aimed primarily at children and families who are familiar with the Angry Birds universe, with a story centered on Red, his friends, and the franchise’s signature sense of humor. Early cinema listings describe it as suitable for ages six and up, a rating to be confirmed by French authorities as the release date approaches.
