The 2025 César awards ceremony takes place this Friday, February 28! The high mass of French cinema is set to reverberate in the legendary Olympia hall, and once again crown the most outstanding French works of the year. Among the big favorites, of course, is The Count of Monte Cristo, which is likely to win a good number of awards.
Alexandre de La Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte's film has been nominated in no fewer than 14 categories, including the prestigious 'Best Film', 'Best Direction', 'Best Actor' for Pierre Niney, 'Best Adaptation', 'Best Photography', 'Best Original Score' and 'Best Editing'.
But other French films are also doing well and seem to be well on their way to the 2025 Césars, such as Jacques Audiard'sEmilia Perez (12 nominations), Boris Lojkine's L'Histoire de Souleymane (8 nominations) and Alain Guiraudie's Miséricorde (also 8 nominations).
