The high mass of French cinema was held this Friday, February 28 at the Olympia. Eagerly awaited by the industry and the general public alike, the César 2025 awards, like every year, honored the crème de la crème of French cinema, and it was Jacques Audiard'sEmilia Pérez that walked away with the most prestigious statuette, that of Best Film, as well as 6 other Césars under its arm.
Another big winner of the gala evening was Boris Lojkine'sL'Histoire de Souleymane, which took home 4 well-deserved Césars. Le Comte de Monte-Cristo, one of the big favorites at the 50th César ceremony, came away with just two Césars, in recognition of its technical qualities.
Now that the awards have been announced, are you wishing you'd gone to the cinema more often last year, and missed out on these quality features? Not to worry! Some of these films are still showing in cinemas, others are on streaming platforms, and some will probably be back in cinemas for a few days or weeks, to take advantage of the publicity that an award like the César brings.
